In accordance with this Ordinance, issued by the Council of Ministers and the Central Council of Bulgarian Trade Unions, self-managing organisations may adopt a new basic wage scheme, pursuant to the terms of Ordinance No. 66 of 1987 (Drjaven vestnik, No. 11 of 1988), subject to the following requirements: (1) workers' collectives shall take measures to ensure productivity increases and staff reductions; (2) funds available for the payment of basic wages shall be established in application of this Ordinance; (3) each person's remuneration shall be fixed on this basis, in accordance with "results obtained in carrying out work"; (4) categories of wage supplements are provided for, depending upon the task, without prejudice to a bonus in case of underground work posing a silicosis hazard. Decision No. 5 of 1977 is revoked. Inter alia, Decisions No. 12 of 1972, 62 of 1973, 49 of 1978 and Decisions on bonuses granted for work carried out under special conditions (ibid., No. 7 of 1987), and on additional remuneration for work carried out under unfavourable and certain other conditions (ibid., Nos. 9 and 10 of 1987), are supplemented, amended or revoked in part.
