Amends Social Security (Incapacity Benefit) Regulations 1994, Statutory Maternity Pay (General) Regulations 1986, Statutory Maternity Pay (National Health Service Employees) Regulations 1991, Statutory Sick Pay (General) Regulations 1982, Social Security (Maternity Allowance) Regulations 1987 and Social Security (Maternity Allowance) (Earnings) Regulations 2000, in consequence of Part 1 of the Employment Act 2002. Establishes that woman's maternity pay period shall commence when she gives notice to employer that she expects his liability to pay statutory maternity pay to begin and she ceases work in conformity with notice. Extends woman's maternity pay period to 26 consecutive weeks. Proscribes rate of statutory maternity pay. Also provides for several related matters.
