Aims to prevent harmful effects of radiation on people's health, and to promote protection of the environment. Applies to manufacture, import, export, transport, transfer, possession, installation, use, handling and waste disposal of radiation sources. Divided into 5 parts. Part 1 provides for purpose of act, scope and definitions. Part 2 sets forth general provisions regarding radiation protection. Part 3 contains special provisions on radiation use for medical purposes. Part 4 provides for planning of incident and accident management. Part 5 contains administrative provisions and provides for penalties. Available in English.
