Gives effect to National Programme on Improvement of Occupational Safety and Health Conditions and Action Plan for implementation of Programme. Objective of Programme is to rationalize occupational health and safety system and institutions. Provides for various measures to be implemented during 2001-2004 period. Inter alia makes provision for legal reform, management, training, research, data base systems, participation of NGOs, and responsibilities of employers.
