Second Region

Comprehensive legislation on administration of penitenciaries and detention centres. Makes provision for determination of the type of work which convicts are required to perform, purpose of work in the institution, compulsory nature of the work and its scope, and persons who cannot be employed for health reasons. Also provides for work in places of employment in the public and private sectors, working time, work programme, practical training periods, determination of amount of work, reporting of work performed each day, internal services, daily wages, bonuses, work cards, family assistance, and several related matters.
