Abstract/Citation: Amends the Teachers (Compensation for Premature Retirement) (Scotland) Regulations 1996. Amends the existing provisions regarding discretionary compensation for premature retirement. Provides that, in the calculation of the amounts of compensation awarded under the 1996 Regulations, there shall be disregarded the actuarial reduction of the lump sum and pension under the teachers' pension scheme. Gives teachers' employers the power to make discretionary compensation payments for termination of employment to persons whose employment has ceased either because of redundancy or in the interests of the efficient exercise of early payment of pension benefits. Provides for the payment of compensation.
