Abstract/Citation: Amends provisions of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485) regarding, inter alia, definitions of terms, the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Advisory Committee, employer's duty to arrange employees to become scheme members, self-employed workers' membership, contributions, portability of benefits, administration of funds, inspection, and voluntary winding-up of an employer-sponsored scheme. Also amends provisions of the Insurance Companies Ordinance (Cap. 41), the Occupational Retirement Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 426), the Employment Ordinance (Cap. 57), and numerous related laws. Inter alia, these amendments concern the administration of occupational pension schemes, severance pay, and taxes.
