Abstract/Citation: Provides for rules in respect of safety at work for young persons at sea. Regulates the responsibilities of the employer (shipowner), the captain and the workleader (Ch. 2, ss. 4-8), describes the types of work young persons shall not undertake (Ch. 3, ss. 9-28), prescribes rest periods for young persons (Ch. 4, s. 29). Sanctions include fines. Includes Annex 1 listing technical equipment, installations and methods of work prohibited for young persons under 18, and Annex 2, listing substances young persons under 18 shall not be working with or be exposed to. Gives effect to Community Directive 94/33/EC of 22 June 1994.
