Makes it unlawful to discriminate against disabled persons in connection with employment, the provision of goods, facilities and services or the disposal or management of premises. Part II relates to employment. S. 6 provides that employers shall make adjustments to allow employment of disabled persons. S. 13 renders discrimination by trade organisations against disabled persons unlawful. Part III relates to discrimination in other areas, including housing. Part IV covers disabled persons and higher education. Part V relates to public transportation; s. 32 requires taxis to be accessible to disabled persons. Part VI establishes the National Disability Council to advise the Secretary of State on issues relating to disabled persons.
