Second Region

Provides regulations governing, inter alia, cleanliness, overcrowding, temperature, ventilation, lighting, drainage, drinking water, sanitary conveniences, facilities for sitting, meals, industrial disease, hours of work and overtime. Each employee shall be allowed at least 250 cubic feet of space in a factory workroom (s. 4). Young persons and women shall not work more than 8 hours a day and clock more than 100 hours of overtime per year (ss. 16-17). Made under Factories Act 1947.
