The Social Security (Canada) Order 1995, of 18 October 1995, makes provision for the modification of the Social Security Act 1992 and the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992 and regulations made or having effect thereunder so as to give effect to the consolidated arrangements contained in the letters. The revised agreement updates the previous social security arrangements with Canada to reflect changes to the UK scheme. It assits former Canadian residents, who become resident in the United KIngdom, to qualify for UK Child Benefit, Unemployment Benefit and Retirement Pension, subject to certain conditions. It does not assist people moving to Canada to qualify for Canadian or UK benefits. |
