    Since the piloting of an Employment Injury Scheme (EIS) for workers in June 2022, the Government of Bangladesh constituted a tripartite sub-committee to regularly meet and review cases of work-related deaths and disabilities in the ready-made garment (RMG) sector.

  2. Decent Work in Garment Supply Chains Asia – Experience and Knowledge Sharing from the ILO-Sida project (2019 – 22)

    International Labour Organization’s European Union-funded Skills 21 project provides technical assistance to the Directorate of Technical Education to formulate the campaign strategy, action plan and implementation to rebrand TVET in Bangladesh

  2. Asia and Pacific: Regional launch event of the International Journal of Labour Research

    The ILO’s Bureau for Workers’ Activities (ACTRAV) organized a high-level regional launch of the International Journal of Labour Research on 16th July2021. “COVID-19 and Recovery: The Role of Trade Unions in Building Forward Better” is launched during a panel discussions which bring together authors, researchers , academics, ILO representatives and leaders from trade union in Asia and Pacific.

  3. The Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF) approved – a milestone for Bangladesh

    The BNQF weaves together general education, technical-vocational education and higher education into a harmonized quality-assured system. It defines pathways and equivalencies, which provide access to qualifications and assist people to move easily and readily between the different education sectors and between these sectors and the labour market.
