    The project "Improving safety and health at work through a Decent Work agenda" was developed to better address safety and health at work as a vital component of decent work. It will be implemented over two and a half years between 2010 and 2012 in five pilot countries. This brochure is providing an overview of the project.

  2. 2011 World Day for Safety and Health at Work in Moldova

    The project "Improving safety and health at work through a Decent Work agenda" supported in 2011 the first celebration of the World Day for Occupational Safety and Health in Moldova.

  3. National Training of Trainers on Labour Inspection

    A training Course for Labour Inspectors was held in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova from 6 to 10 June 2011, in collaboration with the Labour Administration and Inspection Programme ( LAB/ADMIN).

  4. Commemoration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work in Central and Eastern Europe

    The 2011 World Day for Safety and Health at Work focused on the implementation of an Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS) as a tool for continual improvement in the prevention of workplace incidents and accidents. An OSHMS is a preventive method to implement safety and health measures which consists of four steps and incorporates the principle of continual improvement. Its principles are based on the PDCA Cycle: PLAN, DO, CHECK, ACT. Several events were organized in Central and Eastern Europe to celebrate the World Day and to highlight the importance of occupational safety in preventing workplace accidents.

  6. Closing Sub-regional Trade Union Seminar of the Project "Social Dialogue in Western Balkans and Moldova" Western Balkan countries and Moldova”

    The objective of the event was to evaluate work done within the framework of the project, to analyze lessons learnt in the process of implementation as well as to map follow-up activities after the closure of the project.

  7. A comparative overview of informal employment in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova and Montenegro

    This comparative overview has been published as a contribution to the ongoing debate on promoting decent work through the extension of labour protection to the informal economy. It seeks to be an inspiration for policy makers especially in South Eastern Europe to develop targeted solutions to the problem of informal employment.
