New challenges for TVET and skills development - what do you want to learn today?

The importance of learning new skills has never been as evident as in the last year. Almost overnight, all of the global workforce had to admit they faced challenges with their digital skills. We had to switch to new ways of managing work and doing business, of participating in learning and delivering education and training to young people and adults alike. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on education and skills development systems has been profound. Teachers, coordinators and policy makers discovered the challenges, but also the opportunities of applying digital learning technologies.

If you work in education, TVET or skills development and want to keep up with the latest developments, the online courses offered by the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITC-ILO) may be just right for you. They will bring you in-depth knowledge and introduce you to refreshing new ideas. The e-Campus offers you the possibility to learn from whatever place, time and mobile device you choose. Tutors and E-workshops will keep you on track with your learning and the interactive learning methodologies may even inspire you to use E- and blended learning in your own work context.

The following courses are addressed at Government officials, experts, directors and practitioners in TVET, skills development and lifelong learning, as well as and representatives of Employers’ and Workers’ organisations. Upon request, the ITC-ILO might be able to run “tailor-made” courses that are translated, adapted and implemented with simultaneous interpretation. We wish you a successful learning experience!

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

26 APRIL - 11 JUNE 2021
A large proportion of workers acquire knowledge and skills through non-formal and informal means and therefore do not have the corresponding recognised qualifications. This course enables participants to understand how the recognition of prior learning helps individuals to get their skills validated and acquire official qualifications that match their knowledge and skills. Participants will identify challenges and good practices in implementing RPL and understand the fundamentals of building an effective RPL system.

Fostering the Social and Professional Reintegration of Return Migrants

14 JUNE–23 JULY 2021
Return migration is one of the least considered aspects of migration policy, despite its crucial socio-economic significance. A successful management of return migration needs to take into account the pre- and post-return conditions of migrant workers, their reasons for emigration and return and the “catalysts” for effective reintegration, such as employment and investment opportunities. This calls for a development-oriented approach that places migrants' skills, rights, aspirations and know-how at the centre of the discussion. In this course, participants will examine innovative reintegration mechanisms, study comparative data, and analyse tools and instruments for a sustainable management of return migration. Participants in this course qualify for obtaining the ITCILO Diploma for Labour Migration Experts and Practitioners.

E-Learning Lab on Digital TVET

This “Lab” is designed to assist TVET specialists, managers and teachers in strengthening their capacities to design and facilitate e-Learning and blended learning. Through hands-on experiences they will learn how to adapt available materials for online delivery and to operate distance-learning programmes, with a strong focus on multimedia, digital, mobile and inter-active learning solutions. The aim of the e-Learning Lab is to rapidly build the capacities of TVET professionals for improving the quality and outreach of e-Learning in TVET and fostering different forms of digital engagement of TVET students.
