Stakeholder event

The modernized EU-Mexico Global Agreement: Better rules, common values and more opportunities for trade and investment

The European Commission is organizing a stakeholder event to discuss the benefits of the modernization of the trade part of the EU-Mexico Global Agreement

During this stakeholder event, the lead negotiators from the EU and Mexico will outline the main advantages the improved rules, common values and opportunities enshrined in the modernized EU-Mexico Global Agreement bring:
  • Helena König, Deputy Director-General, Trade Directorate-General, European Commission
  • Luz María de la Mora Sánchez, Undersecretary of International Trade of Mexico
European and Mexican business representatives will then look at specific aspects such as investment, geographical indications, intellectual property rights, industrial sector-related issues (for example in the automotive field), and trade and sustainable development (environment and labour).

Marva Corley-Coulibaly, Senior Economist in the ILO Research Department, will join a panel discussion on "Better rules, more values and more opportunities".
