A faith-based contribution to the Future of Work

On 27 November 2018, the ILO will take part in a conference entitled ‘Shaping the future of work’.

COMECE, the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Union, together with its faith-based partners, is organizing an interreligious conference on the future of work, which aims to contribute to the ILO Centenary initiative on the Future of Work.

The conference Shaping the Future of Work will bring together representatives of churches, religious communities and faith-based organizations in the field in order to contribute to the ILO initiative.

In three panel debates, representatives from the EU institutions, experts and practitioners of Christian, Jewish as well as Muslim faith will discuss the challenges of a changing world of work and assess new opportunities to shape the current transformation for the benefit of all members of society.

Heinz Koller, ILO Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, will make opening remarks, and Luc Cortebeeck, Honorary President of the Confédération des Syndicats Chrétiens (CSC-Belgium), will summarize key takeaways from the conference.
