European Development Days 2017

Project lab: How to create decent jobs in the global supply chains?

The ILO will host a Project lab on How to create decent jobs in the global supply chains during the European Development Days.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) warmly invites you to a Project lab on How to create decent jobs in the global supply chains during the European Development Days.

Distinguished panellists will discuss concrete actions that are currently being implemented to create decent jobs and improve working conditions along the value chain. Two ILO flagship programmes will be presented: Better Work, an ILO-IFC initiative to improve working conditions in the garment industry, and SCORE, which focusses on increasing productivity and job quality in SMEs, helping them to participate in global supply chains. UNIDO will present its initiatives adding value to agricultural commodities. DG DEVCO will share its experience in promoting decent work in global value chains, particularly in the garment sector. An interactive debate with participants will then unfold.

Save the date and join us for a stimulating debate on 7 June from 14.00 to 15.15. We look forward to welcoming you.
