  3. Violence and Harassment against Women and Men in the World of Work-Trade Union Perspective and Action

    Violence against women and men in the world of work is an abuse of power that affects the most marginalised workers. Women are disproportionately affected where unequal power relations, low pay, non-standard working conditions and other workplace abuses expose them to violence in the world of work. This report draws on the work of Global Union Federations and 35 national case studies from different sectors and countries across the world to show that through collective agreements, workplace policies and negotiations, campaigns and awareness raising, trade unions have taken constructive steps to tackle violence in the world of work. A key objective of the report is to promote a systematic approach to prevention and elimination of violence and harassment at work and to inform trade unions in building a strong position for the development of a standard-setting item at the International Labour Conference in 2018.

  6. ILO Response to the Syrian Refugee Crisis in Jordan - Regular Budget Supplementary Account (RBSA)

    As part of the wider UN response to the Syrian refugee crisis, the ILO has adopted a development-focused and employment-driven strategy to support host communities and refugees in order to maintain and reinforce the social and economic stability of the affected neighbouring countries. Over recent years, the ILO has used a significant tranche of its RBSA funding to launch activities targeting both Syrian refugees and host communities in Jordan.

  7. ILO Syria Crisis Response Strategy (Update: January 2017)

    Within the framework of the Regional Refugee Response and Resilience Plan (3RP), the ILO has adopted a development-focused and employment-driven strategy to support host communities and refugees. The ILO strategy builds on its core mandate to promote employment, social dialogue, social protection and rights at work through contributing to building the resilience of host communities and refugees, strengthening institutional capacities and coordination to eliminate child labour, and supporting evidence-based policy development to ensure an employment-rich national response, embedded in the principles of decent work.

  8. Lebanon Crisis Response Plan (2017-2020)

    The Lebanon Crisis Response Plan 2017-2020 is a joint, multi-year plan between the Government of Lebanon and its international and national partners. It aims to respond to the challenges in a holistic manner through the delivery of integrated and mutually reinforcing humanitarian and stabilization interventions. The Plan maintains a strong focus on humanitarian assistance to all vulnerable communities, while at the same time – in line with the commitments made at the 2016 London Conference- strongly and continuously seeks to expand investments, partnerships and delivery models that ensure recovery and enable progress towards longer-term development strategies.

    In line with ILO Recommendation No. 202, the 2012 ILC Resolution on making social protection floors a global reality, and the Jordanian tripartite stakeholders’ endorsement of the social Protection Floor (SPF) initiative, this report assesses the fiscal space available to the government of Jordan to finance social protection programmes.
