  1. Integrated Programme on Fair Recruitment (FAIR) Phase I

    1 August 2015 - 31 July 2018,

    This global project seeks to contribute to the promotion of fair recruitment practices globally and across specific migration corridors in North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. Target countries for pilot projects include Tunisia, Jordan, Nepal and the Philippines.

  2. My Fair Home in the Arab States

    1 January 2016 - 30 June 2018, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon

    The My Fair Home campaign is a joint initiative of the International Labour Organization and the International Domestic Workers Federation which aims to elicit attitudinal and behavioural change among employers of domestic workers to ensure decent work.

  3. Introduction of “Know About Business” at the Development and Employment Fund

    1 April 2012 - 29 June 2018, Jordan

    The project works towards the national priority of reducing poverty and youth unemployment and facilitating young Jordanians’ entry to the labour market.

  4. Supporting the strategic objectives of the London Syria Conference 2016 (Phase II)

    1 May 2017 - 31 May 2018, Jordan

    The project builds on on-going UK-funded activities being implemented by the ILO, aimed at improving the working conditions of Syrian refugees and Jordanians in the sectors of agriculture and construction.

    Enhancing the capacity of the Workers’ Center to respond to the needs of migrant workers

    The ILO is working to further develop the Workers’ Center through enhancing the capacity of its staff and improving the Center’s services and activities.

  6. Support the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Kurdistan to develop an action plan to implement an employment policy

    2 December 2013 - 30 April 2018, Kurdistan - Iraq

    The ILO and the Kurdistan Regional Government's Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Iraq are working to create a policy framework and relevant mechanisms to implement a Kurdistan Employment Policy.

    Work in Freedom

    1 April 2013 - 30 March 2018, Lebanon and Jordan

    The aim of the project is to reduce vulnerability to forced labour within the labour migration context of South Asia and Middle East with a particular focus on women in the garment sector and domestic work.

    The ILO is working towards developing a national framework on apprenticeship system in Jordan.

    Improved Labour Migration Governance Programme

    1 April 2015 - 28 February 2018, United Arab Emirates

    The ILO is working with the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation to strengthen governance of foreign labour by building capacity in labour market policy making, improving inspection systems as well as implementing mechanisms for dispute resolution.

  1. Fair wages and childcare: promoting dignity and equality by empowering workers in the private sector in Jordan

    1 November 2015 - 31 December 2017, Jordan

    The project aims to improve working conditions for women in Jordan’s private sector by strengthening their negotiation skills to campaign for their right to pay equity and childcare.
