1. Decent jobs for Jordanians and Syrian refugees in the manufacturing sector

  1. Improved and market-based provision of vocational training for Lebanese and refugees

    The project will design a training programme that helps vocational training providers to gather information on and analyse market needs in order to provide targeted services responsive to community market demands.

  3. Employment through Labour Intensive Infrastructure in Jordan (Phases 1 & 2)

    The project aims to improve the living conditions of Syrian refugees and Jordanians through increased employment and improved infrastructure.

  4. Creation of employment opportunities by fostering an enterprise culture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

    The ILO has developed a set of training materials for entrepreneurship education called Know About Business (KAB).

  5. Job creation for Syrian refugees and Jordanian host communities through green works in agriculture and forestry (Phase II)

    1 December 2017 - 30 November 2018, Jordan

    The project, in its second phase, will be implemented with the Ministry of Agriculture, to boost decent jobs through green works and labour-intensive employment in agriculture and forestry.

  6. EU-ILO collaboration in the monitoring of labour aspects in the implementation of the EU’s rules of origin initiative for Jordan

    1 May 2017 - 30 November 2018, Jordan

    The project supports the implementation of the agreement between the EU and Jordan to relax rules of origin. The agreement facilitates access of specific Jordanian goods to EU markets while creating incentives for Jordanian employers to recruit Syrian workers in addition to their Jordanian employees, in order to meet the requirements under the Jordan Compact.

  7. Formalizing access to the legal labour market through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and certification for Syrians and Jordanians working in the construction, confectionary and garment sectors

    1 September 2017 - 30 September 2018, Jordan

    The project aims to help tens of thousands of Syrian and Jordanian workers access formal employment and decent work in targeted governorates in Jordan, through skills development and accreditation.

  8. Integrating ILO Entrepreneurship Programme “Know About Business” in Vocational High Schools & Community Colleges in Jordan

    1 August 2013 - 30 September 2018, Jordan

    The project falls within the national priority of reducing poverty and youth unemployment and facilitating young Jordanians’ entry to the labour market by fostering an entrepreneurial culture amongst youth. The project seeks to achieve this by pilot testing the ILO entrepreneurship education programme “Know About Business” in selected community colleges and vocational high schools. Upon completion of the pilot-testing phase, an evaluation will take place to ascertain the potential for integration in Jordan’s national curricula.

  9. Strengthening labour market governance in the Occupied Palestinian Territory through reformed labour law and enhanced social dialogue

    The ILO is supporting efforts by government, workers and employers in the Occupied Palestinian Territory to reform labour laws and enhance social dialogue.
