In the Arab States, the programme provides continuity to interventions in countries of destination across the region by building on the work of the Fairway Middle East project (2016-2019), which target low-skilled migrant workers from all regions.

The FAIRWAY Programme is an inter-regional initiative to improve labour migration conditions from Africa to the Arab States, and to protect all vulnerable migrant workers in the Arab States. Over the course of four years, FAIRWAY will contribute to enabling migrant workers to contribute to sustainable development in both countries of origin and destination.

Under Better Work Jordan Phase III strategy, the program will continue to work with stakeholders and development partners to expand decent work opportunities in the Jordanian garment industry and beyond. The program aims to help reduce poverty by providing decent work, empowering women, driving business competitiveness and promoting inclusive economic growth. This can be achieved through enhancing economic performance at the enterprise level as well as improving compliance with the Jordanian Labour Law and International Labour Standards.

The following project builds on the achievements of the recently completed Enhanced Rural Resilience in Yemen (ERRY) programme, implemented by the UNDP, ILO, WFP, and FAO. The project seeks to contribute to reduced vulnerability and strengthened resilience of crisis-affected communities in Yemen through the creation of sustainable livelihoods and improving access to basic services.
