  1. ILO’s Guy Ryder: Syria refugees need our help – but so do the communities hosting them

    Over six years into the Syria conflict, Syrian refugees in Lebanon and the local communities hosting them are finding it difficult to cope with the dire economic and labour market challenges brought about by the influx of vast numbers of refugees. ILO Director-General Guy Ryder visited Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley to meet first-hand some of those affected by the crisis.

    ILO launches “Jobs Make the Difference” report

    The ILO, in partnership with UNDP and WFP, launches a report which focuses on expanding economic opportunities for Syrian Refugees and host Communities in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey.

  6. ILO Chief Guy Ryder to discuss labour issues with Lebanese host communities and Syria refugees, ahead of signature of MOU with Lebanon

    Following the visit, which will also encompass a visit to a community centre for the rehabilitation of child labourers, and the location of a new labour-intensive infrastructure-building project, the ILO, Ministry of Labour and social partners will sign a memorandum of understanding to increase cooperation to realize decent work in Lebanon.
