Employment Services for Palestinian Refugees in South Lebanon

The ILO hosts a workshop on the right to work and social protection for Palestinians in Lebanon.

As part of the ILO-UNRWA project “Employment Services for Palestinian Refugees in South Lebanon”, the ILO Regional Office for the Arab States is hosting a one-day workshop to connect Employment Service Centres (ESC) with stakeholders – including policymakers, employers and workers.

The workshop promotes improved access of Palestinians to employment and social protection in Lebanon, through job placements, decent working conditions and fair treatment.

Since its establishment in 2011, the network of ESCs in Tripoli, Tyre, Saida, and Beirut has successfully enhanced the employability of more than 5000 Palestinian jobseekers and referred over 2000 to decent job opportunities.

Participants include representatives from the Lebanese government, political groups, trade unions, professional syndicates, and Lebanese and Palestinians civil society organizations.
