  1. Assessment of the Maternity Insurance in Jordan

    This piece of qualitative research was commissioned by the International Labour Organisation to provide evidence-based research on the impact of Jordan’s maternity Insurance. It is meant to be the starting point for wider consideration of the MI and its effects on female labour force participation as well as the well being and economic stability of women, their spouses, and their dependents. This research also intends to inform the design of a wider nationally-representative study into the MI and its effects as well as on wider Jordanian economy and society.

Policy recommendations are provided based on the results of the analysis and with a view to mitigating the impact of the pandemic on the labour market in the OPT.

  7. Iraq: Jobs and cultural heritage the focus of new ILO-EU-UNESCO collaboration

    With support from the European Union, the programme will use employment-intensive approaches to create decent jobs and upgrade skills and employment services for internally displaced persons, Syrian refugees and host community members, while preserving and rehabilitating cultural heritage sites.
