This study was completed by the research team from the Institute for Urban and Environmental Studies (IUE), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). The ILO defines "green jobs" as those that reduce the environmental impact of enterprise and economic sectors, to levels that are sustainable. Similarly, "low carbon employment" can be defi ned as employment created in economic sectors and activities which are able to promote enterprise and industry to reduce fossil fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions and mitigate global greenhouse gas emissions.
