Labour Law

Tripartite Social Partners are Actively Preparing for the Implementation of the New Labour Law

The Parliament of Mongolia approved a new Labour Law in July 2021, which will take effect on January 1, 2022. The tripartite social partners are working together to promote and advocate the law.

As a result of almost a decade of close cooperation and consultation of tripartite social partners of Mongolia, the new labour law was approved by the Parliament, with greater extension of law application, better alignment with international labour standards and regulation of newly emerging labour relations, just to name a few key changes.

As preparation for law implementation, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (MLSP) together with Mongolian Employers' Federation (MONEF) and Confederation of Mongolian Trade Unions (CMTU) are organizing series of trainings and advocacy on labour law throughout the country for better understanding and implementation.

The tripartite partners aim to train total of 950 people from national and local governments, as well as employers' and workers' organizations, who will further disseminate the knowledge and information to working people.
