ILO-EUROCHAM roundtable on promoting decent work and responsible business practices in global supply chains
To share CSR projects and initiatives and create synergies among partners, the ILO Country Office for China and Mongolia and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China jointly organized a roundtable on promoting decent work and responsible business practices in global supply chains on 15 November in Beijing to take stock of the progress made and explore ways forward.

The roundtable has provided a platform for delegates from international and national organizations working actively on promoting corporate social responsibility and responsible business conduct in China. The participating organizations included the Delegation of the European Union, the EUSME Centre, the Embassy of Sweden, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Embassy of France, UNDP China, Sedex China, GoldenBee CSR China, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the European Chamber and the ILO.

The discussions focused on:
  • Sharing CSR projects and initiatives from participating organizations
  • The importance of collaboration to maximize impact and create synergies of CSR efforts in China
  • Defining a way to continue coordinating CSR initiatives in China
As a part of the EU-ILO-OECD Responsible Supply Chains in Asia Programme, the roundtable has laid down a good foundation for the ILO Country Office for China and Mongolia and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China to explore areas for future cooperation with partners to promote decent work and responsible business practices in global supply chains.
