Future of Work Conference

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Mongolia becoming a member of the ILO and celebration of ILO’s Centenary, Mongolian youth is discussing about their future of work on November 23, 2018 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Future of Work Conference
Mongolia is a young country with almost half of the population under 25 years of age, yet youth unemployment is almost double the national unemployment rate with increasing number of NEET. At the same time, Mongolia is one of the countries that is seriously affected by climate change which also affects future employment of young people. Therefore, young men and women from all provinces and cities, employed, unemployed, studying or NEET, is discussing this day about the future of work in relation to skills development, education and training; environment, climate change and green jobs; youth rights at work; business entrepreneurship and technology and industrial revolution. As a result, young participants will elaborate an Open Letter to the public, the Government, Employers’ and Workers’ organizations, as well as other stakeholders to let them hear and take actions about what young people think about the future of work and youth employment discussed during the conference.
