The 5th TVET Day in Cambodia was successfully organized to promote skills development

ILO/China Partnership Programme supported the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training of Cambodia in organizing the 5th National TVET Day eventcollaboration on promoting mutual institutional capacity development on digital skills and green skills.

The Royal Government of Cambodia designates June 15 each year as Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Day to promote a skilled and efficient labour force to meet the needs of businesses and industries, both domestically and internationally. The first event was initiated in 2018 and this year marks the fifth with the theme of “TVETs Increase Productivity and High Competitiveness”.
H.E Ith Samheng, Minister of Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training emphasized that the 5th National TVET Day is a demonstration of the joint efforts of a national movement to expand awareness of the role and importance of technical and vocational education and training at national and sub-national levels to provide lifelong learning in order to develop a skilled workforce and demonstrate that TVET can truly increase productivity and increase competitiveness in both domestic and international labor markets.
The ILO/China Programme supports the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training in organizing this event, which aims to:
  • Raise awareness on the importance of technical education and vocational training in Cambodia;
  • Showcase the achievements of training providers and TVET students;
  • Promote networking of TVETs institutes.
