The 4th National TVET Day in Cambodia

The ILO/China Partnership Programme supported the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training in Cambodia to organize the 4th National TVET Day virtually.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has designated June 15 each year as Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) Day to promote a skilled and efficient labour force to meet the needs of businesses and industries, both domestically and internationally. The first event was organized in 2018 and this year marked the fourth.

The 4th National TVET Day "TVET Better Skills and High Income” was organized virtually by the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training in Cambodia on 15 June, 2021. It brought together over 124,000 viewers (F=37,200; 30%), 10,718 liked, 11,806 shared and 2,530 comments about this event and there were 53 ministries, institutions, training institutions, private companies and development partners have involved.

The ILO/China Programme has supported the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training in organizing this event, which aims to:
  • Disseminate the importance of education, technical and vocational training in Cambodia;
  • Introduce technical skills and information scholarships available at vocational and technical training institutions;
  • Showcase the achievements of students and private companies;
  • Promoting study program and changing student’s mindset and convert them to study technical skills with the labor market is high demand, and
  • Increase cooperation between public and private partnership
