    Jointly organized by Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, Cambodia and and ILO/Japan Project on Managing Cross-border Movement of Labour in Southeast Asia. The workshop is aimed at finalizing the policy paper to be submitted to MOLVT for adoption and printing.

  3. Workshop on Gender Equality Mainstreaming Strategies with Royal Government of Cambodia

    As part of its gender capacity building programme in Cambodia, the ILO will support the implementation of five Gender Mainstreaming Strategies (GEMS) Training Workshops of two days duration each. Participants from Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MOLVT), Ministry of Industries, Mine and Energy (MIME), and Ministry of Women's Affairs (MOWA) who are working at the national and provincial levels on labour, employment, vocational training, enterprise development and the economic and social empowerment of women, will participate in each of these workshops.

    Twenty finalists who submitted their design of dresses and t-shirts will display their works and the winners announced and presented awards at this event in Phnom Penh, organized by the ILO Better Factories Cambodia project.

    Participants from Government, Worker and Employer Organizations in Cambodia will examine the current laws and practices regarding social protection for domestic workers - both those working in Cambodia and those who go abroad to work in the homes of others.

    The International Labour Office (ILO) and the Kingdom of Cambodia have agreed today to a three-year cooperation framework and plan of action that will help the country recover from the economic and social crisis facing the region and build a stronger platform for future development.

  7. Helping women and men with disabilities fulfil their potential

The theme this year focuses on the empowerment of persons with disabilities and their communities. Emanuela Pozzan, Subregional Coordinator on Disability looks at one Vietnamese woman whose work in this area has achieved international recognition.
