  1. Youth in India and their aspirations for the Future of Work

    This film was shot on location in 6 different parts of India in Mizoram, Kerala, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, during April-May 2016 in about 3 weeks. The purpose of the film is to capture a diverse set of views of youth on the future of work and what this means in their lives in terms of challenges, opportunities and areas to be tackled by policymakers and other stakeholders.

  2. Future of Work in India and Young People's Aspirations

    The first joint Future of Work (FoW) event, organized by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, V.V. Giri National Labour Institute and International Labour Organization, focused on India's youth and their aspirations in the world of work.

    Under European Union funding, ILO join hands with NAITA to award formal NVQ certification to 116 skilled workers to strengthen human resource capacity in Batticaloa.

  4. Launch of: “Switched On: Youth at the Heart of Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific”

    “Switched On: Youth at the Heart of Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific” a joint report of the Asia-Pacific Regional Coordination Mechanism, United Nations Development Group, Thematic Working Group on Youth will be launched on the sidelines of the Fourth Session of the ESCAP Committee on Social Development. In line with the recently-adopted SDGs, the report examines the 2030 Agenda from a youth perspective, following the so-called ‘five Ps’ — people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership. It considers the social, economic and environmental dimensions of development and stresses the need to create conditions for youth to be engaged, active and integral parts of the solutions we need.

  9. Launch of the employers’ national network of youth initiatives (ENNYI)

    To facilitate this process, ENNYI has created a common portal www.empowerme.lk for both employers as well as undergraduates/graduate students from Universities in Sri Lanka in order to make full use of the prospects. Our objective is to help save resources that would have otherwise been spent by both stakeholder in achieving these common objectives.

    A summary of key results of ILO's work in the Solomon Islands under the joint UN project on "Human Security initiatives: "tensions" reduction, reconciliation and rehabilitation." The ILO has contributed by improving the livelihoods of people affected by civil unrest, in particular young people, inmates, persons with disabilities and females affected by the tensions.
