Students of Çilimli Social Support Centre have presented the season end performance to their families.

Students of Çilimli Social Support centre, which was established within the scope of “Integrated Model for the Elimination of Worst Forms of Child Labour in Seasonal Agriculture in Hazelnut Harvesting in Turkey Project” have presented a performance to their families that they have prepared during their education programme in support centre. 60 students registered in the support centre will say farewell to their teachers until the next year.

School classes end in Ünye Social Support Centre

Ünye Social Support Centre that was established within the scope of “Integrated Model for the Elimination of Worst Forms of Child Labour in Seasonal Agriculture in Hazelnut Harvesting in Turkey Project” is closed for 2015 as the workers has departed the settlement areas with the end of the hazelnut harvest season.

Hazelnut harvesting season coming to an end in East Black Sea Region and seasonal workers are leaving the area. Social support centres which, established within the scope of “Integrated Model for the Elimination of Worst Forms of Child Labour in Seasonal Agriculture in Hazelnut Harvesting in Turkey Project” are closing as workers depart the area.

Rehearsals at Çilimli Social Support Centre continue for the end of the harvest season

Students of Çilimli Social Support Centre are coming to the centre with a school bus every morning from their settlements. Their relation with the centre is reinforced with the social and cultural activities beside the official education programme.

The delegation of stakeholders’ visits for “Integrated Model for the Elimination of Worst Forms of Child Labour in Seasonal Agriculture in Hazelnut Harvesting in Turkey Project” continued in West Black Sea Region on 27-28 August 2015. Govert Visser, Political Affairs Counsellor of the Embassy of Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ankara joined the delegation on the second leg of the field visit representing The Kingdom of the Netherlands, which has been a supporter of the project since beginning.

The Association of the Chocolate, Biscuit and Confectionery Industries of Europe (CAOBISCO) Secretary General and a delegation from it’s members arrived to Ordu Province to observe “Integrated Model for the Elimination of Worst Forms of Child Labour in Seasonal Agriculture in Hazelnut Harvesting in Turkey Project” activities in field and to hold a series of meetings with the project stakeholders in the region.

G20 caught in weak economic and jobs recovery spiral

“A weak economic recovery continues to weigh heavily on G20 labour markets, while the persistent lack of decent jobs is in turn hurting the recovery,” said ILO Director-General Guy Ryder, who’s taking part in the G20 Labour and Employment Ministers meeting and their joint meeting with G20 Finance Ministers in Ankara.
