  1. Media tour of ILO Projects in Mutoko District - Zimbabwe

    On the 5th of March 2014 the ILO Country Office for Zimbabwe hosted a breakfast meeting and field visit for 45 senior journalists from the largest media houses in Zimbabwe as well as the Danish Ambassador Mr. Erik Broegger Rasmussen, the Deputy Minister of Youth, Indigenization and Economic Empowerment, Mr. Mathius Tongofa and the ILO Country Director, Mr. Alphonse Tabi-abodo. There were also representatives from other UN agencies and ILO constituencies.

  3. Career Guidance and Job Creation Study Visit to Morroco

    On Tuesday 13 November ILO Cairo Office, in coordination with the Ministry of Manpower and Migration, held a two-day workshop as the second step of the 'Transition to labour market: career guidance for youth and job creation' project. The project, implemented by the ILO and supported by the Italian- Egyptian Debt for Development Program, aims at supporting transition from school to work, developing public employment services and lowering youth unemployment rates.

  6. Tunisia ratifies three international Labour Conventions

    The Government of Tunisia ratified three international Labour Convention on February 11, 2014. These are the Tripartite Consultation (International Labour Standards) Convention, 1976 (No. 144), the Labour Relations (Public Service) Convention, 1978 (No. 151), and the Collective Bargaining Convention, 1981 (No. 154).

  7. ILO Director-General appoints Aeneas C. Chuma of Zimbabwe as Head of Africa

    Mr Aeneas Chapinga Chuma from Zimbabwe is appointed ILO Regional Director for Africa, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with effect from 1 March 2014.
