    The Republic of South Sudan became the 184th member of the International Labour Organization (ILO) on 29 April 2012. The Republic itself was established on 9 July 2011 following a self-determination referendum where 98% of voters chose independence. South Sudan was admitted to the United Nations General Assembly as the 193rd member state on 14 July 2011 and into the African Union (AU) on 15 August 2011.
