    US Deputy Secretary of Labor Christopher Lu addresses the 104th International Labor Conference.

    In his remarks Christopher Lu, US Deputy Secretary of Labor, welcomed the Report of the Director-General on the future of work and called on the many challenges emerging from changes in the traditional workplace such as the use of labor brokers, temporary workers and technological innovations. He reminded that these changes have the potential to alter the rights, protections and expectations of workers, emphasized the necessity to ensure that core labor standards are protected and implemented, and stressed the need to continue pushing for a strong decent work agenda. Finally, Mr. Lu said he is confident that working in partnership will allow reaching the goals of eliminating poverty, reducing inequality, promoting decent work and building a global economy that benefits all.
