    This ILO led UN joint project is a COVID-19 recovery project funded by UN Secretary General’s Multi Partner Trust Fund (MPTF). Targeting informal sector enterprises and workers in the creative industries and the agriculture sector, the project is implemented jointly by the International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

  5. Pacific labour market review 2020

    This report presents a baseline assessment of the labour market situation in the Pacific Island Countries. The report was completed prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, within the framework of the ILO project on “Strengthening Labour Market Information Systems and Methodologies for Post-Disaster Needs Assessments in the Pacific Island Countries”, covering primarily three of the most disaster-affected countries – Cook Islands, Tonga and Vanuatu.

    COVID-19 is inflicting a triple shock on young people. It is destroying their employment, disrupting education and training and placing major obstacles in the way of those seeking to enter the labour market or to move between jobs. The ILO-ADB Joint report and the recent rapid assessments in Fiji and Samoa brings more light to the situation in Asia and also the Pacific.
