The Tongan Ministry of Trade and Economic Development (MTED) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), allowing for mutual participation in the planning and implementation of the activities that will enable micro and small enterprise, particularly the informal sector to access business training, advisory services and mentoring.

Project consultations on implementation modalities with national stakeholders

The objective of the inception meetings were to consult national stakeholders on implementation modalities and potential partnerships. Meetings with Vanuatu, Palau and Tonga stakeholders were held virtually while the Fiji meeting was held face-to-face.

How a typical informal sector micro business is surviving
