Applying the G20 Training Strategy in Kyrgyzstan (Phase 2)

Development of competency-based training curricula for Gas Industry, Milk Processing and Tourism & Hospitality

Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan - During the period February to August 2020, the G20TS project assisted the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the development of Competency-Based Curricula for 6 qualifications for which occupational standards involving large enterprises, were developed with the project's assistance in 2019 (Gas Industry, Milk Processing, Tourism & Hospitality - Certificate worker and Diploma technician levels).

The work began at a kick-off training workshop for 9 engaged CBT experts, during which templates and approaches to CBT development process were presented and acknowledged by the participants as those which differ from earlier applied methods in the Kyrgyz Republic. It was agreed to use the proposed under the Project techniques in further development of the CBT packages.

Within the period March-July 2020 the CBT packages were developed with active participation of selected vocational schools and leading enterprises from the above mentioned industry sectors. In August 2020, the Ministry of education and science of the Kyrgyz Republic issued its Decree on the rollout of the developed CBT packages in 6 vocational schools with a recommendation to rollout nation-wide.
