Round Table: Discussion of the results of analysis of national skills development strategic objectives and related indicators and the need of their alignment to international HRD recommendations

Opening remarks by Kyrgyzstan Deputy Minister of Education and Science
Bishkek - The ‘Applying the G20 Training strategy: A partnership of the ILO and the Russian Federation’ Phase 2 project team in Kyrgyzstan organized a round table on ‘Discussion of the results of analysis of national skills development strategic objectives and related indicators and the need of their alignment to international HRD recommendations’. The main objective of the round table was to develop knowledge of policy makers and stakeholders to critically examine strategic objectives and related indicators based on international experience.

The round table was chaired by the Chair of the National Project Steering Committee (NPSC) Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kojobekov K.G. Co-chairs NPSC: Deputy Minister of labour and social development of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kadenova Z.A., Deputy chair of the Federation of trade unions of the Kyrgyz Republic, Babaeva R.B., chair of the Employment committee of JIA business-association, Omoshov J. and other members of the NPSC (Agency for primary vocational education under Ministry of education and science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Chamber of commerce and industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Association of industry employers of the Kyrgyz Republic, National confederation of employers of the Kyrgyz Republic, National alliance of business-associations) participated in the round table discussions.

During the event, participants obtained knowledge on strategic objectives and indicators on Skills Development, which are guided by ILO’s Conventions and Recommendations, UNESCO Recommendations, UN Agenda 2030, the strategic framework for European cooperation in education and training (ET 2020) and the G20 Training Strategy, among others.

Round table participants pointed out that positive international experience with regards to formulation of Skills Development strategic objectives and indicators is of extreme importance to be able to review national objectives and related indicators in Kyrgyzstan.
