Whereas some countries in the sub-region already have decades of experience, others have only very recently established national tripartite social dialogue mechanisms. By exchanging experiences and views they all learnt though that, in spite of all countries having ratified the Tripartite Consultation (International Labour Standards) Convention, 1976 (No. 144), there is no one-size fits all model when it comes to social dialogue. Each country needs to develop the mechanisms and structures that fit best within their national, historical, economic and cultural context.

The exchange between the participants was enriched by being able to participate in one of the Working Group Meetings of the Russian Tripartite Commission for the Regulation of Social and Labour Relations.

Based on what they had learnt during the seminar, all participants developed recommendations, in a tripartite manner, for how national tripartite social dialogue could be improved in their respective countries.

The training was moderated by Lejo Sibbel, Sr. Specialist on International Labour Standards and Labour Law of the ILO DWT/CO Moscow, and organised in cooperation with the Tripartite and Social Dialogue Unit at ILO HQ, as well as the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation.
