Uzbekistan to create over 972,000 new work places in 2013

The Legislative Chamber of the Parliament of Uzbekistan discussed and approved the draft program for creation of work places in 2013 at the session on November 23. The program envisages creation of 972,700 new work places.

New work places are supposed to be created through launch of new enterprises, rehabilitation and expansion of current enterprises, further stimulation of small business development, private and family entrepreneurship. A significant proportion of home-based work places will be created in the regions, which are traditional national crafts centers – Namangan, Fergana, Andizhan, Samarkan, Bukhara regions.

A particular attention will be paid to 28 remote, mountain and frontier areas with underdeveloped production and social sphere and higher unemployment rate. At least 126,000 work places will be created in such areas in 2013, which is by 5% more than in 2012.

The program will also support creation of at least 100,000 work places for disabled persons having problems with finding a job.
