2nd Social Protection Assessment Based National Dialogue in the Kyrgyz Republic, 17-19 February, 2016

On 17– 19 February 2016 a series of technical and political meetings took place in Bishkek as part of the framework for the social protection assessment–based national dialogue. Technical meeting of the working group and a high-level round table were organized by the International Labour Organisation, which provided technical support in defining the priorities for the extension of the social protection floors.

It's especially frustrating for young people with high academic qualifications. Increasingly, they are learning that getting the highest education possible is no longer a guarantee of getting a good job. But an innovative strategy built on partnerships from all levels of society is changing that, and changing young people's perceptions of what kind of job is most suitable for them.

Working against Child Labour In Tajikistan

The economy in the central Asian republic of Tajikistan is recovering after a devastating civil war, but a persistent problem remains - tens of thousands of children are trapped in child labour. But a coordinated effort to identify children in, or at risk for, child labour is paying off in Tajikistan. One of the key achievements has been a the establishment of a national training center where former child labourers can learn skills that are needed in Tajikistan's growing economy.
