    In collaboration with the ILO International Training Center (ITCILO) in Turin, ILO Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia has organized a Sub-regional training on Membership strategies and Service design and delivery, which was held on 19 - 21 November 2018 in Moscow, Russia.

  5. Regional conference on Labour Inspection in NIS

    The ILO-ACTRAV, in cooperation with the Pan-European Regional Council of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC-PERC) organized a regional conference for the ITUC-PERC affiliates in the Newly Independent States (NIS) on 26-27 September in Tbilisi. The participants discussed challenges of effective functioning of the labour inspections to supervise implementation of labour and occupational health and safety standards. Taking part were trade union leaders, technical specialists and trade union labour inspectors from Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia.

    On 4-6 July 2017, all ILO staff from our subregion, including colleagues working on projects, met for a retreat outside Moscow. The purpose of the retreat was more than important as it was the team-building. The slogan ‘One team, one dream’ had been chosen accordingly.

    In recent years, many countries have established or strengthened minimum wages to eliminate unduly low pay and promote decent work. In this context, governments from all parts of the world, as well as employers' and workers' organizations, have asked the ILO for information on a wide range of practical issues.

  9. CIS and BRICS Representatives Meet in Turin to Discuss Youth Employment

    On 23 to 28 January 2017, Turin, Italy, hosted a subregional conference on youth employment, attended by representatives of the CIS and BRICS countries, tripartite members of the regional youth employment network established within the framework of the LUKOIL-funded ILO Project "Partnerships on Youth Employment in the CIS," the ILO Moscow and ILO HQ officials and international experts.
