    According to a report* issued by an ILO Commission of Inquiry, several acts by the Government of Belarus give rise to the conclusion that the Belarus trade union movement has been and continues to be the subject of significant interference on the part of Government authorities.

  3. Consolidation under Way: Capacity-building Seminar for the CIS Employers' Representatives

    In co-operation with the Manufacturing Association of Israel, the Bureau for Employers’ Activities organized in Israel on 11 - 19 November a seminar for employers' representatives from eight countries of the Community of Independent States: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation and Uzbekistan.

  4. Belarus violates workers’ rights.

    The International Labour Organization has strongly criticized the Government of Belarus for what it called “a serious deterioration in the respect of trade union rights” in the country. In a report adopted today by its Governing Body, the ILO urges the “Government to take all necessary measures to bring national law and practice into conformity with freedom of association principles as a matter of urgency.”
