Gender and sustainable development

Seminar toward the formulation of a framework for gender and sustainable development for women agricultural workers and indigenous women of Southern Mindanao: A report

The seminar was designed to put substance to a drat network for gender and sustainable development using the perspectives of women agricultural workers and indigenous women of Southern Mindanao.

Part I of the seminar were workshops and focused group discussions with ten women indigenous and nine women agricultural workers where the most pressing issues and concerns of their sectors were identified and consolidated. The consolidated issues became the basis for an integrated framework for gender and sustainable development.
Part II was designed and participated by 12 women representatives from selected government agencies, non-government, people's, and socio-civic organizations, and schools. The group was expected to respond to the framework developed in Part I and make room for the framework in their respective agency's and organization's policies, programmes, and projects.
