Social protection of homeworkers in the Philippines
Practical actions for the social protection of homeworkers in the Philippines
The campaign for social protection of homeworkers in the Philippines has had eight project years, from 18 June 1988 to 18 June 1996. The task has certainly been interesting, inspiring and instructive. Yet there is much to be attained, after all, social protection is a life-long need and concern.
The campaign for social protection of homeworkers in Southeast Asia virtually commenced with the launching of the ILO-DANIDA Subregional Project on Rural Women Workers in the Putting Out System in June 1988. The project pursued the double objective of employment promotion and social protection, initiating a wide range of advocacy, policy dialogue, data collection and field action with homeworkers' groups.
