  1. Book launch: "Still Work to be Done"

    25 June 2020

    In this book, Luc Cortebeeck examines the future of work: how can we eliminate child labour and exploitation?How do we make governments ans multinationals respect all workers in supply chains? How will we work in the post-coronavirus world? These are some questions that Luc Cortebeeck tried to respond in this book which is a plea for effective international social regulations and a strong ILO as cornerstone for social progress.

  2. ILO Webinar on COVID-19: Stimulating the Economy and Employment​ in Asia and Pacific

    The lockdown measures have sparked an unprecedented economic crisis in most countries around the world. “Jobs-led” and “human centred” economic policies have become increasingly important and necessary in the COVID-19 crisis and recovery response. The ILO Policy Framework on COVID-19 Crisis based on International Labour Standards identified out four (4) pillars to fight the crisis and one of which is the pillar on “Stimulating the Economy and Employment”. This webinar, part of the ACTRAV Webinar Series 2.0 will explore how economic and employment policies (in particular active labour market policies) can support workers and sectors in the Asia Pacific region to promote employment growth and more decent work on the road to recovery.

  3. First Project Management Meeting TCES Water System Construction

    Partners from South Upi, Maguindanao conducted its First Project Management Unit meeting under the ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project. The project aims to promote peace and to provide water access through safe and decent work.

  4. Stop the Pandemic: Safety and Health at Work can Save Lives

    7 May 2020

    The Philippines marked the World Day for Safety and Health at Work through a webinar on Safe Return to Work in the time of COVID-19. The ILO, the Department of Labor and Employment, the Employers Confederation of the Philippines together with representatives from workers organizations in both formal and the informal economy joined the discussion.

  5. World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2020 - Stop the pandemic: Safety and health at work can save lives

    Recognizing the great challenge that governments, employers, workers and whole societies are facing worldwide to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work will focus on addressing the outbreak of infectious diseases at work, focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic.

  6. Crafting of an Environmental and Social Safeguard Management Plan

    28 February 2020

    The local government and partners from South Upi crafted an environmental and social safeguard management plan as part of the construction and improvement of water system under the ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

  7. Occupational safety and health training on water system construction

    19 February 2020

    The ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project provided a training on Occupational Safety and Health in partnership with the Ministry of Labor and Employment and the local government of South Upi.

  8. Stakeholders Forum: UK Prosperity Fund Skills Programme for South-East Asia

    18 - 19 February 2020

    The ILO gathered national stakeholders and key partners to discuss priorities and strategies for more productive and equitable skills and TVET systems under the UK Prosperity Fund Skills Programme for South-East Asia Project.

  10. Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) Workshop on In Business Soft Skills Training with Industry Associations

    7 - 8 January 2020

    The workshop seeks to introduce industry associations to the In Business Soft Skills Training and the different methodologies on peer facilitated trainings for women in STEM-related occupations.

  1. Workshop on Reintegration Programmes for Returning Migrant Workers

    27 - 28 August 2019

    This workshop will enable knowledge-sharing and collaboration on return and reintegration good practices for the ASEAN region, promote cooperation on bilateral and regional levels, and facilitate the development of the ASEAN Guidelines on Effective Return and Reintegration

  2. ILO ECOP Workshop on In Business Soft Skills Training for Member Companies

    15 - 16 August 2019

    The workshop seeks to introduce company trainors and Human Resource Managers to the In Business Soft Skills Trainings and the different methodologies on peer facilitated trainings for women in STEM-related trainings.

  3. TESDA-NTTA Train the Trainers Workshop on Job Readiness Trainings

    13 - 14 August 2019

    The Workshop focused on building the capacity of TESDA trainors in public and private TVETs in conducting Job Readiness Trainings for entry to the workforce, particularly in Information and Communications Technology related work. The program consists of a training workshop, a teaching demo class, and an individual coaching class for the trainers to help them develop the training methodology skills to conduct job readiness trainings.

  4. Looking Back, Moving Forward, and Taking Action Towards a Child Labour-Free Philippines

    29 June 2019

    In the celebration of World Day Against Child Labour during its Centenary, the ILO looks back at the past century’s achievements of tackling child labour, its milestones addressing the issue in the Philippines, and propels action to end all forms of child labour in the country.

  5. Labour Inspection Statistics Appreciation and Workshop: Completion Report

    7 - 11 June 2019

    Labour inspection statistics can help to analyze which branches of economy or country regions appear to be more problematic in terms of observance of a given law. The statistics might reveal, that some branches of economic activity are more prone to having occupational accidents, or to committing serious infringements.

  7. Inter-Regional Knowledge-Sharing Forum on Child Labour and Working Conditions in ASGM

    28 - 30 May 2019

    The International Labour Organization's CARING Gold Mining Project, funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, will host the first-ever Inter-Regional Knowledge-Sharing Forum to discuss issues on child labour and working conditions in artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) on 28-30 May 2019.

  8. Workshop on Strengthening Capacity and Coordination on Prevention and Investigation of Trafficking in Persons for Forced Labour

    27 - 28 May 2019

    This workshop is held to improve mutual understanding and facilitate effective cooperation and referrals between labour inspectors and criminal law enforcers in investigating labour rights abuses including trafficking in persons.
