Presently. on top of DOLE's labour agenda is protecting the workers' security of tenure and strengthening the campaign against labour-only contracting. It is expected that Department Order 183-2017 will strengthen the implementation of DO 174-2017 or "Rules Implementing Articles 106 to 109 of the Labor Code as amended" issued by the DOLE on March 16, 2017 which aims to end the practice of illegal labour-only contracting in the workplaces.
One of the seminar/workshop aimed to is familiarize the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) affiliated labour federation and local union leaders and officers about Labour Law Compliance System, DO 183-17 its implementation, results and enforcement updates, their contents and provisions including issues and concerns related to the said regulation and the basic principles of FoACB as defined in the Labor Code and ILO.
