ILO-Japan Project and BDA partner for water system in indigenous communities
The ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project and the Bangsamoro Development Agency partner for the construction of water systems in indigenous communities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project and the Bangsamoro Development Authority partner to construct water systems in indigenous communities. The ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project and the Bangsamoro Development Agency partner for the construction of water systems in indigenous peoples (IP) majority barangays of Renti and Rifao in North Upi and Looy, South Upi, Maguindanao.
Around 95 per cent are without access to safe water in Renti and Rifao, while residents of Looy rely heavily on dug wells, rain water and the nearest river.
The ILO-Japan Water and Sanitation Project aims to improve access to safe water and provide employment to these remote, waterless communities. Water and employment have become more relevant during this time of COVID-19 pandemic.
