Consultation Workshop on Human Resource Results-based Management on Labour Inspection in Luzon

The ILO Labour Inspectorate Project has assisted the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in developing four proposed job descriptions to include entry-level general labour inspector and senior general labour inspector, covering all aspects of general labour standards and basic occupational safety and health, entry-level technical labour inspector and senior technical labour inspector covering technical safety inspections and occupational safety and health investigations.

To further support the implementation of the proposed job descriptions, one of the Project’s deliverables is to review the existing performance evaluation systems and tools which DOLE is using to ensure that the key result areas in the job descriptions are translated into key performance indicators used to evaluate labour inspectors, and that the allocation of weights for these indicators reflect the criticality of each of their corresponding key result area.

The Project proposed to the conduct of two batches of a two-day Consultation Workshop on Human Resource Results-based Management on Labour Inspection to be participated by labour inspectors, regional managers of inspectors, regional HR officers and regional Planning Officers.

Objectives of the workshop:

1. To present the DOLE-cleared job descriptions for labour inspectors to regional managers.
2. To develop proposed standard Individual Performance Commitment Review forms to be used for labour inspectors based on the proposed job descriptions.
3. To build the capacity of DOLE regional managers on performance management and coaching using proposed HR tools.
